1. ear的基本意思是“耳朵”,是可数名词,常用复数形式。
2. ear也可作“听力,听觉; 鉴赏力”解,尤指在音乐或语言方面灵敏的听力,或分辨声音的能力,总是用单数形式,一般不能单独使用,其前须加一修饰性词语。
3. ear还可作“倾听; 注意”解,总是用单数形式,但可以加不定冠词。
4. ear还可指稻麦等谷物的“穗”,是ear(耳朵)的同形同音异源异义词。ear作“穗”解时,可用作单位词,接of短语表示数量。
